Fishers  in Hamilton County

  • Fishers is in Hamilton County and lies just east of Carmel.  Fishers also has been named several times as one of the most desirable cities in the U.S. to raise a family.  Hamilton-Southeastern and Fishers High School are both located in Fishers and both are high ranking schools.  Fishers has also been one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. in the past 10 years.  The development of Geist reservoir in Fall Creek Township twenty years ago has greatly added to this growth.  Like Carmel, some of the most affluent homes around Indianapolis would be located here.

Carmel

 

  • Carmel is located due north of Indianapolis in Hamilton County and accessed either from Keystone Avenue or Meridian Street (north of 96th Street).
  • Money Magazine named Carmel, IN as one of its Best Places to Live list in 2012.  Carmel schools are rated next to none.
  • Carmel’s Arts and Design District  has been a huge success with its specialty shops, restaurants, art galleries and interior design studios.  Carmel’s City Center is home to the Palladium which is Carmel’s Center for the Performing Arts and draws big-name entertainers and is a world-class alternative to downtown Indianapolis concert venues.
    The Carmel-Clay schools are known throughout the U.S. for its high academic achievements and its sports teams and extracurricular activities.  Although Carmel is home to a variety of private and parochial schools, all of Carmel’s 15 schools received an “A” or “Exemplary Progress” rating from the state of Indiana in 2011-2012.
  • Carmel is also an economic leader in Indiana and boasts the state’s second-largest concentration of office workers and an unemployment rate nearly half the national average.
